Rhythm Plum

  • About the Fruit Plum is a temperate fruit rich in proteins, sugar, minerals and K vitamins. Today, it is being grown in the mid hill zone of the Himalayas Special varieties of plum that give the wine its tart-sweet taste include the Damsun plum.
  • About the Wine When blood-red plums with picked to make a fruity and delicate wine the Rhythm Plum was vented. It has a lovely blush color. The best quality grapes are used as a base for the wine, which allows the fruit flavours to get expressed prominently.

  • Food Pairing It can be paired with light bites such as cheese and crackers, dhoklas (Gujarati snack) and malai kebabs.
  • Serving Notes This wine is at its best when served chilled at temperatures between 8-10° C, preferably in a champagne flute.
  • Tasting Notes This wine is crisp, off-dry with a bracing, pleasant plum fruit character that finishes with a long palate. Its well balanced acidity and brick red color highlights its nuances on the nose. There is a tingling tart finish to the wine that leaves you with its lingering fruit flavour.
  • Wine Master's Notes It is one of the most delicate fruits to handle. The fruit is rich in flavour and a little astringent. To balance the flavours, specially ripened grapes that are low in acidity are used, to give the wine a softer feel.

Sparkling Sangria

[Serves 4]
Ingredients: 2 cups strawberries hulled and sliced, 2 plums sliced into thin rounds, 1 lemon sliced into thin rounds, 1 bottle Rhythm Plum Wine (750ml), ¼ cup brandy/Cognac), ¼ cup sugar syrup, ¼ cup strawberry syrup, 2 table spoons lemon juice, 2 cups sparkling water.

Method: In a sangria pitcher, add the strawberries, plum and lemon slices. Mix a little with a ladle. In a small glass combine the brandy, strawberry syrup, lemon juice and the sugar syrup. Pour this and the bottle of Rhythm Plum over the fruit. Chill the mix for at least an hour, or longer if you have it. Just before serving, stir in the sparkling water. Add some of the fruit into glasses, pour in the liquid, garnish it, and serve it!
